Most people have no idea the amount of time and dedication that it takes to reach the top in the sport of swimming.  There are countless hours of practice in the pool early in the morning, in the afternoons, weekends and holidays.  These teens are sacrificing going to parties or hanging out with their friends in order to reach their ultimate dreams.  BASA has had great examples of swimmers that have made it to the Olympics and swum for Universities and are excited to add two special young athletes to the BOA elite athlete list at the C level.  BASA President Tim Petty said “On behalf of Bermuda Swimming I would like to congratulate Nic Patterson and Ashley Yearwood for reaching this prestigious level for our sport.  We are looking forward to what they will be doing in the pool in the future and know that they will represent Bermuda well.”
